A few weeks ago, I dropped by Noble Sandwich Co., on Burnet Road to try a burger. I decided to be adventurous and try the Porkmento burger, since it’s something that is totally unique to Noble Sandwich.
This burger was great. It’s an all pork shoulder patty with pimento cheese, jalapeno slaw and roasted garlic mayo. I ordered my slaw on the side, because I wasn’t sure I’d like it.
I took the first bite and was impressed. Then I nibbled some of the slaw. Tentatively, I folded a little of the slaw under the bun so I could get the full effect of the burger. It was amazing. The slaw was absolutely necessary. It added the freshness of the veggies, and texture and crunch. Soon I had added most of the slaw onto the burger.
The pimento cheese is the centerpiece of this burger. It’s salty, cheesy, gooey. Everything you want on a burger. It really balanced out the mildness of the pork patty.
My friend ordered the bacon cheeseburger, which although good, wasn’t unique. And when I go back I will never order the bacon cheeseburger, because the Porkmento burger is so good.
Each of these burgers come with fries for about $10.
